The Assistant Project Manager is a key role focused on ensuring contract compliance and effective document management for assigned projects. Reporting to the Project Manager (PM), the APM will collaborate closely with the PM, project superintendent, and other stakeholders such as Professional Consultants, Contractors, and Clients to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation & Compliance: Manage and track project documentation through platforms like CMIC and One Drive, ensuring potential schedule or cost issues are identified early.
- Communication & Reporting: Keep the PM informed about all administrative matters and support effective communication with internal teams, subcontractors, A/E/Owner, and external customers.
- Safety & Contract Management: Prepare the Site Specific Safety Manual and assist in subcontractor and vendor contract preparation and execution.
- RFI Management: Create, distribute, and track Requests for Information, ensuring timely responses.
- Project Scheduling & Meetings: Develop submittal logs, attend project meetings, and assist with project scheduling alongside the PM and superintendent.
- Compliance & Close-Out: Support with inspections, permits, and obtaining all necessary documents for project close-out.
- Project Management: Manage small to mid-sized projects under the guidance of PM/Management.
Key Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Bluebeam/Adobe, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
- Effective communication skills for interaction with various teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop project schedules in collaboration with project team members.
- Experience in managing project documentation and compliance requirements.
This role is suited for individuals who excel in organized environments and possess a keen eye for detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction or related field.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license. Travel is required for this role.
- Physically capable of climbing ladders and stairs and standing for extended periods.
