Arthur Funk & Sons is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team. This position will be based at our offices in Lebanon PA and will primarily be responsible for the successful completion of both preconstruction estimates and final bid estimates.
The preferred candidate knows how to build a full conceptual cost estimate from architectural sketches and develop and implement value engineering solutions to control costs and maintain a high level of quality. They can also write detailed scopes of work for multiple trades and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and projects.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, can connect with clients and coworkers and collaborates well with others.
Senior Estimator position qualifications:
- Estimate projects ranging from design build, hard dollar bid build, square foot cost analysis, and negotiated schematic design estimates. Projects include renovations, additions, and new build.
- Ability to interpret design documents to develop thorough scopes of work.
- Develop / determine cost per square foot in-house detail and design build budgets.
- Develop / maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships, manage bid invitations, pre-bid questions, descoping and bid proposal assembly.
- Communicate effectively with clients and AFS Team.
- Develop strategies to pursue, estimate and win competitive bids.
- Understands importance of smooth transition from preconstruction to construction teams.
Skills and Preferred Education:
- Effective communication skills for interaction with various teams and stakeholders.
- Possess a collaborative mindset, fostering teamwork and contributing positively to group dynamics.
- This role is suited for individuals who excel in organized environments and possess a keen eye for detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovative solutions.
- Self-motivated and Dependable
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in Bluebeam/Adobe, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project), On Screen Take-off.
